Our Tented Camp, situated in Henley On Klip, only 40 minutes South of Sandton, is set in a tranquil bush environment.

Due to the unpredictable overnight cold snaps in Henley on Klip , we close our Tented Camp from 1 June to 31 August to guarantee your comfort.

The Camp is also ideally situated for access to the OR Thambo Internation Airport, Soccer City, Ellis Park & Loftus Stadiums for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

Forget preconceived ideas about tents, we offer lots of attention to detail, in special touches, to make your stay a happy one! Our camp is ideal for individuals, romantic break-aways, groups of friends or companies doing conferencing and / or team building and for bachelor parties. The setting provides the ideal break away from the city and is in a secure environment. environment. You will realy feel like you are in the African bush!

Accommodation Offered

We cater for different guest needs, by offering two styles of Backpacker Units (sleeping 20 in total), as well as offering Luxury Lodge Units (sleeping 10 guests).

Total accommodation in our tented camp, for all classes of accommodation: 32 beds

Rates are quoted on a bed & breakfast basis and include VAT. Our rates include day resort fees and a Full English Breakfast.

Lunches and early dinners are served at the waterfront Geckos Coffee Shop or you may visit one of the restaurants in the area. A gate entry remote can be loaned to you, to go off site to a local (a refundable deposit is required) restaurant.

Please pre-arrange dinner at Geckos, if required. Picnic lunches can be packed for your outings of the day. You may also braai at the waterfront garden area. There are no self catering facilities at our Makhulu Maghodi Lodge Camp.

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Please note:

Children, 12+ years, accompanying parents, must be booked into a separate bow tent, (See Backpackers Units), if not in a Family Unit. Bow tents, for children accompanying parents, may be placed on the parents' lodge site which has adequate space around its site, if the parents would prefer this.

On the day of departure residents may continue to use the facilities at Bass Lake for the remainder.

Please note the following:

Adventure Activities can be incorporated into your stay. Preferential conferences can be catered for and team building activities can be designed to add fun to your conferences. Activities include raft building and raft obstacle courses, abseiling, paint balling, archery, 4 x 4 driving, fun games, survivor obstacles, experience scuba diving among a host of other activities.

Catch & Release Bass Fishing can be arranged mid week, on site, or at the Vaal River on week-ends and game drives can be arranged at a nearby game park. Access to the resort is included in the tariff. We now also offer a recreation club with a swimming pool, squash court and tennis court. A fully licensed bar with pool & snooker tables will open shortly.
